MURRAYS BRING STATE OF ORIGIN TO TOWN
” Murrays Coaches and Goondiwindi Travel Centre have long had an association, over 22 years in fact in transferring passengers. When Goondiwindi Travel commenced the very successful Racing Tours to Melbourne and Sydney, Murrays Coaches were selected as the preferred supplier of Coach Transfers, something that continues today.
Last Saturday, Murrays returned the favour when they called into Goondiwindi with the Queensland State of Origin Coach when it was returning from the Melbourne Game to Brisbane for game three.
Owner of Goondiwindi Travel Centre, Graeme Scheu thanked Mr. Ron Murray, Principal of Murrays Coaches for allowing the kids of Goondiwindi and district to board and see the Queensland State of Origin Coach at the recent Junior League day at Gilbert Oval.
Goondiwindi hosted the combined team of Mill-wood which consists of kids from Texas, Inglewood and Millmerran and gave all kids a chance to actually see the team bus and sit in the seats of their favourite players. It was a real thrill for the kids of this area to be a part of such a promotion”Mr Scheu explained.
It was also ironic that the Boars Jersey colours consist of Maroon and Blue indicating real border content in the sport played at Goondiwindi.
The local Chamber of Commerce arranged for a photo of the kids in front of the bus in their jerseys to be entered into the Footy Shows “That’s Gold Competition.
